Time: 12:00pm - 2:00pm
Dates: June 17-19
Time: 8:00am - 11:00 am
Location: Clark Field – Outdoor Track
Participant Needs: Training shoes, Water Bottles, sunscreen, t-shirt and shorts. Sprint spikes are optional, but not necessary.
Level 1: beginner to intermediate level track and field athletes. The goal is to provide exposure to many of the sprinting events, relays, hurdles, and horizontal jumps. Participants will be expected to engage in a variety of event areas intended to provide a “general” understanding and appreciation for the wide range of events and skills needed to compete in those events.
Level 2: intermediate to advanced level track and field athletes. Designed to improve the sprint mechanics needed for the 100m/200m/400m races, as well as long jump approach. Instruction will focus primarily on acceleration, block starts, & max velocity running mechanics. Participants will be instructed in a variety of drills designed to reinforce proper range of motion, body position, and postural alignment. Benefits include video break down, demonstration by collegiate athletes, and individual participation.
Located adjacent to the Racquet Center, the Clark Fields feature a 2,200-seat football/soccer stadium with a full-size press box, rooms for home and visiting teams, and a concession area. An eight-lane Balsam track surrounds the field, which hosts football and soccer contests. A softball diamond, constructed in the Northeast corner, features some of the largest concrete dugouts in the state. With a full-field tarp, Coe can cover its clay infield and grass outfield with ease. Seating is available for 250 spectators. A track and field practice area and an intramural field fill out the space.
